Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by August Willem van Voorden could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in February 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Topographical Observations: Picture your world auction, the work A busy day in the Rotterdam harbour changed hands for EUR 9,850.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by August Willem van Voorden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals, which sold at auction in May 2010 for EUR 27,400.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von August Willem van Voorden konnte im Februar 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Topographical Observations: Picture your world wechselte die Arbeit A busy day in the Rotterdam harbour für EUR 9.850,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von August Willem van Voorden mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für EUR 27.400,00 versteigert wurde.
