The »bidding war« ended at EUR 9,375.00 34% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by August Willem van Voorden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals, which sold at auction in May 2010 for EUR 27,400.00.

Die Arbeit Maas voor 't Park: boating on the river Maas, Rotterdam von August Willem van Voorden wurde im März 2011 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 9.375,00 und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von August Willem van Voorden mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für EUR 27.400,00 versteigert wurde.
