Die Arbeit A Busy Day On The Quay von August Willem van Voorden kam im März 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 4.000,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von August Willem van Voorden auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Steenkolen transport: Transportation of Coals im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.400,00.
