Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ashley Bickerton could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Discoveries auction, the work Grey Reflecting Heads changed hands for USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,817.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ashley Bickerton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seascape: Floating Costume to Drift for Eternity II in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 221,000.00 (€ 162,428.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ashley Bickerton konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries wechselte die Arbeit Grey Reflecting Heads für USD 2.016,00 (€ 1.817,36) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ashley Bickerton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seascape: Floating Costume to Drift for Eternity II im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 221.000,00 (€ 162.428,34).
