In April 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction The Orientalist Sale, which included the work Hungarian the Learned Man Of Cairo by Arthur von Ferraris. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 182,500.00 (€ 215,360.53), 52% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur von Ferraris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Austrian Driving A Bargain, Cairo , which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 1,049,000.00 (€ 673,818.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 52 % übertroffen
Im April 2013 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hungarian the Learned Man Of Cairo von Arthur von Ferraris zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 182.500,00 (€ 215.360,53) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur von Ferraris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Austrian Driving A Bargain, Cairo beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 1.049.000,00 (€ 673.818,09) versteigert wurde.
