Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Orientalist Art, 19th Century European Art, which included the work Driving a Bargain by Arthur von Ferraris. The price achieved of USD 374,400.00 (€ 293,118.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur von Ferraris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Austrian Driving A Bargain, Cairo , which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 1,049,000.00 (€ 673,818.09).
