Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Dust is too much for the son of a farmer in Cimarron Co., Okla., 1933 by Arthur Rothstein was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in December 2010. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,625.00 (€ 2,731.93), 21% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Arthur Rothstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 23,500.00 (€ 26,481.86).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.625,00 (€ 2.731,93) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Rothstein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Farmer and sons walking in the face of a dust storm, Cimarron County, Oklahoma im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.500,00 (€ 26.481,86).
