Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Grisebach held the auction Auktionen 222-228 - Photographie, which included the work Watching Mechanical Santa in Department Store Window. by Arthur Leipzig. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,562.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Arthur Leipzig have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Subway Lovers, 1949 in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 21,250.00 (€ 14,687.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2014 führte Grisebach die Auktion Auktionen 222-228 - Photographie durch, in der auch die Arbeit Watching Mechanical Santa in Department Store Window. von Arthur Leipzig zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.562,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Leipzig auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Subway Lovers, 1949 im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 14.687,59).
