The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,487.41), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Arthur Leipzig have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Subway Lovers, 1949 in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 21,250.00 (€ 14,687.59).

Die Arbeit Window Washer, Empire State Building, 1948 von Arthur Leipzig wurde im August diesen Jahres in der Auktion Tales of the City: New York Prints and Photographs of the Early 20th Century bei Christies in Sydney versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.487,41) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Leipzig auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Subway Lovers, 1949 im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 14.687,59).
