Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Coalminer by Arthur Leipzig was sold in the Prints & Photographs auction at Bonhams in Skinner Boston in January 2024. The price achieved of USD 1,280.00 (€ 1,118.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Leipzig achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Subway Lovers, 1949 in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 21,250.00 (€ 14,687.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Coalminer von Arthur Leipzig wurde im Januar 2024 in der Auktion Prints & Photographs bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.280,00 (€ 1.118,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Leipzig erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Subway Lovers, 1949 im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 14.687,59).
