Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Arthur Hughes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2018. In the British Art: Victorian, Pre Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Female head sold for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 41,778.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 380,650.00 (€ 555,736.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
