Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for Sir Galahad, the Quest for the Holy Grail by Arthur Hughes was auctioned at Bonhams in London in September last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,737.50 (€ 6,529.83) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 380,650.00 (€ 555,736.99).
