It achieved a price of GBP 151,200.00 (€ 170,690.07), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Hughes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead, which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 380,650.00 (€ 555,736.99).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 151.200,00 (€ 170.690,07) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Hughes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für GBP 380.650,00 (€ 555.736,99) versteigert wurde.
