Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Bonhams in London held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Portrait of Mrs Waring Finch and two of her children by Arthur Hughes. The price achieved of GBP 50,700.00 (€ 57,701.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Hughes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 380,650.00 (€ 555,736.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs Waring Finch and two of her children von Arthur Hughes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.700,00 (€ 57.701,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Hughes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Birthday Picnic - Portraits of the children of William and Anne Pattinson of Felling, near Gateshead im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 380.650,00 (€ 555.736,99).
