Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Big Wheel, Paris by Arthur Beecher Carles was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,800.00 (€ 3,589.05). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Beecher Carles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Composition in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 221,000.00 (€ 177,681.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Big Wheel, Paris von Arthur Beecher Carles im März 2007 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.800,00 (€ 3.589,05) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Beecher Carles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Composition im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 221.000,00 (€ 177.681,30).
