ARMANDO (1929-2018) der Zaun (The Fence) the complete set of seven drypoints, on Hahnemühle paper, 1995, each signed and dated in pencil, numbered 3/10 on the justification page (there were also ten artist's proofs), loose (as issued), with the justification page, each with full margins, in very good condition, together with the original paper covered portfolio case Overall: 26 1 ⁄ 8 x 20 7 ⁄ 8 x 3 ⁄ 8 in. (680 x 530 x 10 mm.)
Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work der Zaun (The Fence) by Armando for USD 126.00 (€ 114.13). This price was achieved in the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Armando achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in April 2015 with an auction result of EUR 47,100.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit der Zaun (The Fence) von Armando für USD 126,00 (€ 114,13) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Armando erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 47.100,00.
