This work without title by Anne Ryan was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction at Christies in New York in May 2016. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,490.35), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anne Ryan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (No. 234) signed 'A. Ryan' (lower right); signed again, titled and dated 'No. 234 3-5-49 A. Ryan' (on the backing board) printed paper, string, metallic paper, watercolor, ink and glue collage on paper 7 x 5½ in. (17.7 x 13.9 cm., which sold at auction in January 2009 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 17,572.63).
