This artwork by Anne Ryan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. In the American Art auction, the work Collage No. 285 sold for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,580.36) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anne Ryan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (No. 234) signed 'A. Ryan' (lower right); signed again, titled and dated 'No. 234 3-5-49 A. Ryan' (on the backing board) printed paper, string, metallic paper, watercolor, ink and glue collage on paper 7 x 5½ in. (17.7 x 13.9 cm., which sold at auction in January 2009 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 17,572.63).
