The work Beige Background; Light Blue Background: Two Works by Anne Ryan was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2012. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,778.47) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anne Ryan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (No. 234) signed 'A. Ryan' (lower right); signed again, titled and dated 'No. 234 3-5-49 A. Ryan' (on the backing board) printed paper, string, metallic paper, watercolor, ink and glue collage on paper 7 x 5½ in. (17.7 x 13.9 cm., which sold at auction in January 2009 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 17,572.63).
