Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled #69 (by Proxy) by Anna Gaskell was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,250.00 (€ 937.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anna Gaskell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #5 (Wonder Series) in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 33,460.00 (€ 28,437.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled #69 (by Proxy) von Anna Gaskell im März 2012 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.250,00 (€ 937,45) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anna Gaskell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #5 (Wonder Series) im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.460,00 (€ 28.437,87).
