Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Anna Gaskell could be acquired at Christies in New York in May 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post -War And Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Mary Anne changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 4,820.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Anna Gaskell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled #5 (Wonder Series) in May 2003 with an auction result of USD 33,460.00 (€ 28,437.87).
