Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work River Ice Wrapped Around a River Stone by Andy Goldsworthy for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,057.65). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War to Present at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andy Goldsworthy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work (i) British Museum (Stonework) (ii) Stonework, which sold at auction in February 2005 for GBP 28,800.00 (€ 41,763.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit River Ice Wrapped Around a River Stone von Andy Goldsworthy für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.057,65) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Andy Goldsworthy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit (i) British Museum (Stonework) (ii) Stonework beobachtet, die im Februar 2005 für GBP 28.800,00 (€ 41.763,69) versteigert wurde.
