This artwork by Andro Wekua achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July last year. In the First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online auction, the work To be titled (Dancer) sold for GBP 13,860.00 (€ 16,551.30) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andro Wekua - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Workshop Report (Full Portfolio), which sold at auction in October 2014 for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 44,689.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Andro Wekua erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit To be titled (Dancer) für GBP 13.860,00 (€ 16.551,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Andro Wekua mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Workshop Report (Full Portfolio) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für GBP 35.000,00 (€ 44.689,94) versteigert wurde.
