Artwork auctioned at nine times the upper estimate price
The work Sea Color by Andro Wekua was worth GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,216.59) to a buyer in November 2017. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Andro Wekua; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Workshop Report (Full Portfolio) sold at auction in October 2014 with the realized price of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 44,689.94).
