Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Taras Schewcenko by Andro Wekua was auctioned at Phillips in London in June 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,931.18). Admittedly, works by Andro Wekua have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Workshop Report (Full Portfolio) in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 44,689.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Taras Schewcenko von Andro Wekua im Juni 2015 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.931,18) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andro Wekua auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Workshop Report (Full Portfolio) im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 44.689,94).
