This artwork by Andrew Plimer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2020. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait of a lady sold for GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,630.13) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,400.00. Admittedly, works by Andrew Plimer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A lady called Lady Whitbread, facing left in buff-coloured dress with white underslip, pearl armlet, holding a garland of leaves flowing from her dark curling hair in her right hand in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 25,850.00 (€ 41,479.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Andrew Plimer erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a lady für GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.630,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.400,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrew Plimer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A lady called Lady Whitbread, facing left in buff-coloured dress with white underslip, pearl armlet, holding a garland of leaves flowing from her dark curling hair in her right hand im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.850,00 (€ 41.479,72).
