It achieved a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,355.67), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Admittedly, works by Andrew Plimer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A lady called Lady Whitbread, facing left in buff-coloured dress with white underslip, pearl armlet, holding a garland of leaves flowing from her dark curling hair in her right hand in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 25,850.00 (€ 41,479.72).
