Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work A portrait miniature of an officer, wearing red coat, cream collar, facings and epaulettes over his white frilled chemise and black stock, his hair powdered by Andrew Plimer for GBP 1,211.25 (€ 1,380.43). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andrew Plimer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A lady called Lady Whitbread, facing left in buff-coloured dress with white underslip, pearl armlet, holding a garland of leaves flowing from her dark curling hair in her right hand in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 25,850.00 (€ 41,479.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A portrait miniature of an officer, wearing red coat, cream collar, facings and epaulettes over his white frilled chemise and black stock, his hair powdered von Andrew Plimer für GBP 1.211,25 (€ 1.380,43) erwerben. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A lady called Lady Whitbread, facing left in buff-coloured dress with white underslip, pearl armlet, holding a garland of leaves flowing from her dark curling hair in her right hand im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.850,00 (€ 41.479,72).
