This artwork by Andrew Plimer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2019. In the The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures Part II auction, the work Portrait Of Lady Mary Scott (1769-1823) And Her Sister Lady Harriett Scott (1780-1833) sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,764.15) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andrew Plimer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A lady called Lady Whitbread, facing left in buff-coloured dress with white underslip, pearl armlet, holding a garland of leaves flowing from her dark curling hair in her right hand in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 25,850.00 (€ 41,479.72).
