This artwork by Amy Sherald achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2019. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Innocent You, Innocent Me sold for USD 350,000.00 (€ 313,929.50) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Amy Sherald achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bathers in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 4,265,000.00 (€ 3,487,326.25).
