Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work She was learning to love moments, to love moments for themselves by Amy Sherald. The price achieved of USD 1,482,000.00 (€ 1,381,045.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Amy Sherald - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bathers, which sold at auction in December 2020 for USD 4,265,000.00 (€ 3,487,326.25).
