Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Pilgrimage of the Chameleon by Amy Sherald. The price achieved of USD 2,087,000.00 (€ 2,021,699.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,800,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Other works by Amy Sherald have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2020 the work The Bathers was auctioned for USD 4,265,000.00 (€ 3,487,326.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pilgrimage of the Chameleon von Amy Sherald zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.087.000,00 (€ 2.021.699,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.800.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Amy Sherald konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2020 die Arbeit The Bathers für USD 4.265.000,00 (€ 3.487.326,25) versteigert.
