This artwork by Amani Lewis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session auction, the work Into the Valley, the Boy Walks (Psalms 23:4) sold for USD 107,100.00 (€ 94,887.92) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Amani Lewis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot For Angela and her kin...in the garden (NITT edition) sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,040.39).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Amani Lewis; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit For Angela and her kin...in the garden (NITT edition) im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 94.500,00 (€ 112.040,39).
