Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2012 Christies in London held the auction Australian Art, which included the work Instruments For A Solitary Navigator #16 (The Distant Sound.) by Alun Leach-Jones. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,439.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Alun Leach-Jones have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in August 2004 the work Instruments For A Solitary Navigator was auctioned for AUD 16,730.00 (€ 9,710.07).

Im Oktober 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Instruments For A Solitary Navigator #16 (The Distant Sound.) von Alun Leach-Jones zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.439,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
