Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Garden of Plastic Delights by Alfredo Esquillo, Jr. was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 280,000.00 – 380,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 225,000.00 (€ 24,224.66). Other works by Alfredo Esquillo, Jr. have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2014 by the work The Clouds, Expecting; The Drama, Unfolding at HKD 350,000.00 (€ 36,033.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Garden of Plastic Delights von Alfredo Esquillo, Jr. im November 2017 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 280.000,00 – 380.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 225.000,00 (€ 24.224,66) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Esquillo, Jr. wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2014 die Arbeit The Clouds, Expecting; The Drama, Unfolding mit HKD 350.000,00 (€ 36.033,52).
