This artwork by Alfred Pollentine achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2015. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art auction, the work The Grand Canal, Venice sold for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,147.71) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alfred Pollentine; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Santa Maria della Salute; and The Doge's Palace, Venice sold at auction in June 2000 with the realized price of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 13,968.90).

In der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art wurde die Arbeit The Grand Canal, Venice für GBP 6.000,00 (€ 8.147,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alfred Pollentine; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Santa Maria della Salute; and The Doge's Palace, Venice im Juni 2000 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 8.812,50 (€ 13.968,90).
