The work The Grand Canal, Venice by Alfred Pollentine was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2013. It achieved a price of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,025.25), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alfred Pollentine; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Santa Maria della Salute; and The Doge's Palace, Venice sold at auction in June 2000 with the realized price of GBP 8,812.50 (€ 13,968.90).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.025,25) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alfred Pollentine; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Santa Maria della Salute; and The Doge's Palace, Venice im Juni 2000 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 8.812,50 (€ 13.968,90).
