Auction result well in line with expectations

In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints, which included the work A bustling market town by Alfred Montague. The price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,059.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred Montague have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A blustery day in the estuary in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 3,760.00 (€ 5,397.54).

Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit A bustling market town von Alfred Montague zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.059,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Montague auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A blustery day in the estuary im November 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.760,00 (€ 5.397,54).
