Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,598.39), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Montague - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A blustery day in the estuary, which sold at auction in November 2003 for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 5,397.54).
