The work Off to the fishing grounds; and A fishing barge in an onshore breeze (illustrated) by Alfred Montague was sold in the Maritime auction at Christies in London in November 2007. The result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,800.52) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Other works by Alfred Montague have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2003 the work A blustery day in the estuary was auctioned for GBP 3,760.00 (€ 5,397.54).
