Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alfred H. Vickers could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES auction, the work Landing a ferry; and Fisherman's tales changed hands for GBP 3,877.50 (€ 6,256.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Other works by Alfred H. Vickers have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2003 by the work The ferry at GBP 4,935.00 (€ 6,875.70).
