Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Going to church by Alfred H. Vickers was sold in the British and Victorian Pictures auction at Christies in London in November 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 828.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfred H. Vickers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The ferry in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 6,875.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Going to church von Alfred H. Vickers wurde im November 2002 in der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 828,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred H. Vickers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The ferry im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.935,00 (€ 6.875,70).
