Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A lakeside town by Alfred H. Vickers was sold in the British and Victorian Pictures auction at Christies in London in September 2002. The price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 840.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred H. Vickers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The ferry in May 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 6,875.70).
