Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Watering The Team by Alexis de Leeuw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 900.00 (€ 1,289.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alexis de Leeuw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Winter scene in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 6,110.00 (€ 9,722.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Watering The Team von Alexis de Leeuw zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 900,00 (€ 1.289,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexis de Leeuw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Winter scene im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.110,00 (€ 9.722,93).
