This artwork by Alexis de Leeuw achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in January 2008. In the Nineteenth Century European Art auction, the work Figures skating by a windmill; and Skaters by a farmstead on a Dutch waterway sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 7,037.85) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alexis de Leeuw; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Winter scene sold at auction in November 2001 with the realized price of GBP 6,110.00 (€ 9,722.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexis de Leeuw erzielte im Januar 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art wurde die Arbeit Figures skating by a windmill; and Skaters by a farmstead on a Dutch waterway für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 7.037,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alexis de Leeuw; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Winter scene im November 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 6.110,00 (€ 9.722,93).
