Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Playing in the snow by Alexis de Leeuw was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2007. The price achieved of EUR 4,560.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexis de Leeuw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter scene, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 6,110.00 (€ 9,722.93).

Die Arbeit Playing in the snow von Alexis de Leeuw kam im Januar 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 4.560,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexis de Leeuw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Winter scene beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 6.110,00 (€ 9.722,93) versteigert wurde.
