Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View on the River Almond, near Edinburgh, with Almondell Bridge and a fisherman by Alexander Nasmyth was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2007. It changed hands for a price of GBP 22,800.00 (€ 33,551.74) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Nasmyth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground, which sold at auction in October 2005 for GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).

Die Arbeit View on the River Almond, near Edinburgh, with Almondell Bridge and a fisherman von Alexander Nasmyth kam im Mai 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 22.800,00 (€ 33.551,74) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Nasmyth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für GBP 72.000,00 (€ 106.178,24) versteigert wurde.
