This artwork by Alexander Nasmyth achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2012. In the Old Masters & British Paintings auction, the work A view of Loch Tay, from the West, at Killin, with travellers on a path and a village beyond sold for GBP 43,250.00 (€ 53,887.60) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alexander Nasmyth; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground sold at auction in October 2005 with the realized price of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexander Nasmyth erzielte im Mai 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters & British Paintings wurde die Arbeit A view of Loch Tay, from the West, at Killin, with travellers on a path and a village beyond für GBP 43.250,00 (€ 53.887,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alexander Nasmyth; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground im Oktober 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 72.000,00 (€ 106.178,24).
