Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A View Of Edinburgh From Corstophine Hill by Alexander Nasmyth was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2011. The price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,461.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 14,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander Nasmyth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 72,000.00 (€ 106,178.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A View Of Edinburgh From Corstophine Hill von Alexander Nasmyth wurde im Dezember 2011 in der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.461,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 14.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alexander Nasmyth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Dreghorn Castle, Midlothian, with figures and a hay cart in the foreground im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 72.000,00 (€ 106.178,24).
