Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2012 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Hepburn vs Dietrich by Alex Guofeng Cao. The price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,724.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alex Guofeng Cao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Warhol Versus Mao, After Mapplethorpe, 2009, which sold at auction in October 2012 for USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,328.45).
